| | Founded in 1989 by Dennis Ostermann, Jörg Schelte, Stefan Vesper and Thomas Steiger, In Strict Confidence is then called - until 1992 – Seal of Secrecy. Their first tape, “Sound Attack”, is followed in 1994 by a second one, “Hell Inside / Hell Outside”, recorded in a monastery in Höchst. Both are now out of stock. In 1995, the legendary Frankfurt-based electro label Zoth Ommong starts to get interested in the band’s work and releases their first album, “CRYOGENIC”, the following year, unveiling hits such as Become an Angel, Inside or Sudorific. As early as 1997, the group starts their first tour and the mini-album “COLLAPSE”, which features the hit Dementia and the best ever Depeche Mode electro cover to date (a morbid and poignant new version of Stripped), is a smashing hit. The American label Metropolis asks for a US licence. "FACE TO FEAR", the band's second album (their more static and less potentially commercial record) is discreetly released in 1998, despite the presence of a few indispensable tracks such as Industrial Love, Hidden Thoughts and Alles in Mir that bands like X Marks The Pedwalk, Melotron and even VNV Nation will remix a few years later. In Strict Confidence leaves Zoth Ommog for financial reasons in 1989 and embark on their first American tour together with Das Ich. In 2000, the band gets signed on the new label Bloodline and immediately releases their third album, "LOVE KILLS!", soon propelled at the top of the German alternative charts and considered as one of the best independent albums of the year. The following tour is a total success. For multiple reasons, including financial problems, the band has to leave Bloodline in 2001 and decides to create their own label, Minuswelt Musikfabrik, distributed in Germany by Sony Music. 2002 marks the release of a fourth album, "MISTRUST THE ANGELS", and a new success for the band. | | | | | | | | |
