Who are we? Premonition was originally born as a fanzine whose first issue was published on December 30 1988.
While we started with a running of 400 copies, circulation gradually increased over the years to eventually reach 5,000 copies. The periodicity, rather irregular at first, eventually settled down to a bimonthly rhythm. We widened our distribution in France, Belgium and Switzerland through a faithful network of sales points including records shops, Fnac, Virgin and specialised books shops.

Right from the start, Premonition stood out thanks to its open-mindedness and to the eclecticism of the bands it featured. The magazine's "non-professional" structure indeed provided the staff with a total freedom of choice. The ever-evolving "independent music" banner mixes electronic music, pop, indie, goth, industrial... as well as both established and more intimist bands.
Premonition's purpose is to give everyone the opportunity to hear these bands express themselves and, above all, to present the greatest possible number of reviews in every new issue.

In July 1996, Premonition launched its own Web site as an essential companion to the printed magazine, in order to provide readers with regular (and sometimes daily) updates.

2002 marks the inauguration of Premonition's brand new version, from now on exclusively on line and more than ever reactive to current events.
